Terms of Service

Effective date: September 19, 2026 · Applies to the Subik app for iPhone and Android and to this website.

The short version. Subik helps you see and track your subscriptions. It is not a bank connection and not financial advice — always confirm charges with the merchant or your card statement. Subik Pro renews automatically through the App Store or Google Play until you cancel there; free trials convert to paid unless cancelled before they end. Be decent, don’t abuse the service, and note that our liability is limited as set out below.

1. The agreement

These Terms of Service (“Terms”) are a contract between you and The Oat Labs, an independent software studio based in Israel operated by Omer Attias (“The Oat Labs”, “we”, “us”), and govern your use of the Subik mobile application, this website and related services (together, “Subik” or the “Service”). By creating an account or using Subik you accept these Terms and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use Subik.

You must be at least 16 years old, or the age at which you can enter a binding contract where you live, to use Subik.

2. What Subik is — and is not

Subik reads receipts and renewal notices in a mailbox you connect (currently Gmail, read-only), and subscriptions you add manually, to build a list of recurring charges with totals, history and reminders.

  • Not a bank connection. Subik never connects to your bank, cards or payment accounts and cannot move money, cancel a subscription with a merchant, or stop a charge. Cancelling is always done with the merchant.
  • Not financial, legal or tax advice. Totals, forecasts and reminders are informational. Nothing in Subik is a recommendation to buy, keep or cancel anything.
  • Detection is best-effort. Automatic detection depends on what merchants email you and how. Subik may miss a subscription, detect one that no longer exists, or misread an amount, currency or date. You confirm each detection, and you remain responsible for verifying charges against your statements.
  • Reminders are not guaranteed. Notifications depend on your device settings, connectivity and the platforms’ delivery. Do not rely on a reminder as your only safeguard against a charge.

3. Your account

You sign in with Apple or Google. You are responsible for keeping that account secure and for everything that happens under your Subik account. Tell us at subik@theoatlabs.com if you suspect unauthorised use. You can delete your account at any time from Settings → Privacy & Data or by following the account-deletion instructions.

4. Connecting a mailbox

When you connect Gmail you grant Subik read-only access under Google’s permission screen. You may only connect mailboxes you own or are authorised to use. Our handling of Gmail data is described in the Privacy Policy and complies with the Google API Services User Data Policy, including its Limited Use requirements. You can revoke access at any time in the app or from your Google Account; Subik’s automatic detection stops working for that mailbox when you do.

5. Subik Pro, credits and free trials

5.1 What is sold

  • Subik Pro — an auto-renewing subscription billed monthly or yearly, unlocking the Pro features shown in the app — such as trial alerts, renewal reminders, spend insights, weekly auto-refresh and unlimited inboxes.
  • Subik Pro Lifetime — a one-time purchase granting Pro features for the life of the Service.
  • Scan credits — one-time, consumable packs of additional inbox scans for users without a Pro subscription. Every account also gets one free scan.

Prices, the exact features and the trial length (if any) are shown in the app before you buy and may differ by country and platform.

5.2 Billing through the app stores

All purchases are made through the Apple App Store or Google Play and charged to the payment method on your store account. The Oat Labs never sees your payment details. The store’s own terms and your local consumer law also apply.

5.3 Auto-renewal and cancellation

Subik Pro renews automatically at the end of each billing period, at the price shown when you subscribed (or the price we have notified you of under the store’s rules), until you cancel. You can cancel any time in your store’s subscription settings — App Store: Settings → your name → Subscriptions; Google Play: Play Store → Profile → Payments & subscriptions. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current period; you keep Pro until then. Deleting the app or your Subik account does not cancel a store subscription.

5.4 Free trials

Where a plan offers a free trial, the trial length and the price that follows are shown before you start. If you do not cancel at least 24 hours before the trial ends, the subscription begins and you are charged for the first period. One trial per store account, subject to the store’s eligibility rules.

5.5 Refunds

Refunds for purchases are handled by Apple or Google under their refund policies — please request them there. Scan credits are consumed when a scan starts and are not refunded once used. Nothing in this section limits refund rights you have under mandatory consumer-protection law, including under Israel’s Consumer Protection Law, 5741-1981.

5.6 Changes to plans and prices

We may change features or prices. Price changes to an existing subscription are notified through the store’s mechanism and take effect only from your next renewal, and you can cancel before they apply.

6. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • use Subik for anything unlawful, or connect a mailbox you are not entitled to access;
  • reverse-engineer, scrape, probe or interfere with the Service, our servers or the app stores’ billing;
  • attempt to bypass purchase, entitlement or credit checks, or share an account to do so;
  • upload or transmit malware, or use Subik to harass, defraud or harm anyone;
  • resell or commercially exploit Subik or its data without our written consent.

7. Ownership and licence

Subik, its design, code, logo and content are owned by The Oat Labs and protected by intellectual-property law. We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to install and use the app on devices you own or control, for your own non-commercial use, under these Terms. Your subscription data stays yours; you grant us only the rights needed to store, process and display it for you.

8. Third-party services

Subik relies on Apple, Google, the app stores and the processors listed in the Privacy Policy. Their availability and terms are outside our control; if Google changes or withdraws Gmail API access, automatic detection may change or stop. Merchant names and logos belong to their owners and appear only to identify your subscriptions.

9. Termination

You can stop using Subik and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate your access if you materially breach these Terms, if required by law, or if we discontinue the Service — in the last case we will give reasonable notice where possible. Sections 2, 5.5, 7, 10, 11 and 12 survive termination.

10. Disclaimer of warranties

Subik is provided “as is” and “as available”. To the fullest extent permitted by law we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including accuracy, completeness, fitness for a particular purpose and uninterrupted or error-free operation. In particular, we do not warrant that every subscription will be detected or that any amount, date or reminder is correct.

11. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, The Oat Labs is not liable for any indirect, incidental, consequential, special or punitive damages, or for lost profits, missed cancellations, charges you did not intend to pay, or loss of data, arising from your use of or inability to use Subik. Our total liability for all claims relating to the Service in any 12-month period is limited to the amount you paid us for Subik in that period, or, if you paid nothing, 100 Israeli shekels. Nothing in these Terms excludes liability that cannot be excluded by law, including for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, or your statutory consumer rights.

12. Governing law and disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Israel, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Any dispute that cannot be resolved informally — please write to us first — will be brought exclusively before the competent courts in Tel Aviv–Yafo, Israel. If you are a consumer in the European Union or United Kingdom, this does not deprive you of the protection of mandatory laws or the courts of the country where you live.

13. App Store terms

If you downloaded Subik from the Apple App Store, the following also applies: these Terms are between you and The Oat Labs only, not Apple; Apple has no obligation to provide maintenance or support for Subik; Apple is not responsible for any product warranty, claim, or third-party intellectual-property claim relating to Subik; and Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these Terms and may enforce them against you. You confirm you are not located in a country subject to a U.S. Government embargo or on any U.S. Government list of prohibited parties.

14. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms. For material changes we will notify you in the app or by email at least 14 days before they take effect; continuing to use Subik after that date means you accept them. The current version is always at subik.theoatlabs.com/terms.
